Chambers:
Adjustable firmness appeals to sleepers because its like having dozens of different beds in
your house all in one. Firmness levels can be adjusted to suit your changing life from
weight change and illness, to pregnancy and day to day changes in preference. The Somma
Aire dual mattress system provides individualized comfort levels for couples who can not
agree on firmness levels. It's not surprising that air sleep has experienced a 1200 percent
growth since 1995. Our air chambers are made from a specially formulated domestic alloy
material that is designed to hold air longer than rubber, is 25 percent stronger than
rubber, will stretch 73 percent more than rubber before breaking, have a 19 percent
stronger seam strength, and have NO ODOR. The air chambers are constructed using a welded
lap seam that performs better than the more common butt seam constructed air chambers. Our
chambers have reinforced corners and valve inserts welded as a unit into the air chambers,
not glued in like many of our competitor's.
Foam Rail System:
Each Somma Airbed comes with the PATENTED "Perfect Fit" contoured foam
rail system.
All of the rails are contoured to allow the air chambers to fit snugly
into the sides of the rails. The
contoured foam rails allow the strength of the air chambers to work in
conjunction with the rails system to form a rectangle with perfectly
straight sides. No matter what level of firmness the air chambers are
adjusted to, the sides of the rectangle will remain straight and true.
The Somma won't bulge and sag like many traditional air mattresses.
Because the Somma rail system is so strong, we
can use a 1.6 density foam in the rails. This minimizes the effect the
foam rails might have on a comfortable night's sleep.
Inner Coil Technology
Our PATENTED Inner Coil technology provides reactive support for the heavier mid-body at a
reduced air pressure, allowing the sleeper's body to remain correctly aligned for good
sleep posture. Other airbeds use an old and ineffective "free-flow" air technology that
can lead to a "hammock effect" in the mid body when adjusted at a softer level. This will
cause strain on the lower back and spine. To try and correct this, the sleeper will add
air to try and add support to the mid-body, but this will lead to a mattress that is too
hard, creating a "tent-effect" where the body is arched upward, restricting blood and air
flow. The patented inner coil technology of the Somma Aire air mattress allows the sleeper
to adjust the firmness level either hard or soft, always maintaining proper sleep alignment
without "hammocking" or "tenting", preventing morning grogginess and soreness caused by
unnecessary muscle contractions when sleeping. By keeping your muscles relaxed, your spine
in alignment, and allowing unrestricted blood flow to your capillaries, the Somma Aire
allows sleepers to wake refreshed and ready to take on a new day.
